You’re invited to share your expertise and insights in an important survey on the next markets for the clothes Australians no longer wear. This is a practical opportunity to contribute to Australia’s circular clothing future before the survey closes at 12pm AEDT on Wednesday 11 March 2026.
This work is an important part of our program which received grant funding from the Australian Government, to support a coordinated national clothing collection, sorting, reuse and recycling system for Australia.
What we’re asking you
The survey seeks your insights about current pathways for unwearable clothing, and barriers and opportunities for increasing local recycling and remanufacturing for Australian clothing textiles. We’re also inviting your feedback on the policy settings required to reduce clothing in landfills and advance the Australian circular economy.
Your contribution will directly inform Australia’s future national clothing system and help evolve the Seamless scheme as a viable, scalable industry-led stewardship model.
Who should take part
We welcome contributions from across the sector, but this survey is specifically designed for organisations directly involved in the clothing value chain — from brands, manufacturers and retailers to those collecting, sorting, reusing, recycling and remanufacturing clothing textiles after they’ve been worn.
We also want to hear from organisations outside the clothing sector who are buying recycled clothing textiles outputs – for example furniture and bedding manufacturers buying stuffing for mattresses or furniture, construction companies buying acoustic panels or mining companies buying rags.
Your practical experience at any stage of this journey is essential to this work.
