In our first year of operations, our collaborative actions are already making a positive impact on how we choose, enjoy and recycle clothing in Australia —and we’re only just getting started.

From establishing a national clothing benchmark for Australia and unveiling it at a groundbreaking runway show at NSW Parliament, to welcoming 56 Seamless members and more than 120 Seamless supporters, it’s fair to say our first year of operations was a busy one.

While we’ve set a strong foundation, there is so much more to come. Watch the video for just some of the highlights from year one of Seamless.

We were also incredibly proud to receive a prestigious Gold Australian Good Design Award for the Seamless scheme design, launch the Seamless Leadership Podcast and Seamless RE:THINK program, and hold our first circular clothing design training, with more than 100 participants joining us so far.

Our first four working groups focused on eco-modulating better practice; aged inventory management; scheme requirements for uniforms and agreeing a taxonomy of terms.

The Seamless State and Territory Government roundtable is co-ordinating on policy, programs and investment, and importantly, we’re proud to be collaborating with UTS for the initial phase of a world-first research initiative to establish First Nations circular design principles for Australia’s clothing industry.
